This film series explores many aspects of our society. To rethink what is possible in our world, we need to consider what kind of world we want to live in. Although we refer to it as a civilization, it is anything but civilized. Visions of global unity & fellowship have long inspired humanity, yet the social arrangements up to the present have largely failed to produce a peaceful and productive world. While we appear to be technically advanced, our values and behaviors are not. The possibility of an optimistic future is in stark contrast to our current social, economic, and environmental dilemmas. The Choice Is Ours includes interviews with notable scientists, media professionals, authors, and other thinkers exploring the difficulties we face.

Part I provides an introduction and overview of cultural & environmental conditions that are untenable for a sustainable world civilization. It explores the determinants of behavior to dispel the myth of “human nature” while demonstrating how environment shapes behavior. The science of behavior is an important – yet largely missing – ingredient in our culture.

Part II questions the values, behaviors, and consequences of our social structures, and illustrates how our global monetary system is obsolete and increasingly insufficient to meet the needs of most people. Critical consideration of the banking, media, and criminal justice systems reveals these institutions for what they really are: tools of social control managed by the established political and economic elite. If we stay the present course, the familiar cycles of crime, economic booms & busts, war, and further environmental destruction are inevitable.

Part III explains the methods and potential of science. It proposes solutions that we can apply at present to eliminate the use of non-renewable sources of energy. It depicts the vision of The Venus Project to build an entirely new world from the ground up, a “redesign of the culture”, where all enjoy a high standard of living, free of servitude and debt, while also protecting the environment.

Part IV explains how it is not just architecture and a social structure that is in desperate need of change, but our values which have been handed down from centuries ago. They too need to be updated to our technological age, which has the potential to eliminate our scarcity-driven societies of today. Our problems are mostly of our own making, but we can still turn things around before the point of no return. It’s not too late for an optimistic outlook on the fantastic possibilities that lie before us.

*special thanks also to Alexander “Obraz” …Obraz.io who created the many 2d motion depictions (plus the sound fx!) of concepts such as the “hamburgers and fried chicken” segment and many others which are Alexander’s inimitable work style and attention to details where we needed very specific illustrations of key points.

The Venus Project proposes an alternative vision of what the future can be if we apply what we already know in order to achieve a sustainable new world civilization. It calls for a straightforward redesign of our culture in which the age-old inadequacies of war, poverty, hunger, debt and unnecessary human suffering are viewed not only as avoidable but as totally unacceptable. Anything less will result in a continuation of the same catalog of problems inherent in today’s world.

  1. Genes play absolutely 99,99 % of the intelligence. Try learn a chimp enligsh. Can you do it? No. Exacly. Same thing with human races. Some have higher IQ some races has less. Best is to have Europe white as it has been. Africa black as it is today. Asia for asians and so forth.

  2. How can we consume the said resources? What does the human race meaning of life? Are we gonna live to maintain rhe high standard living? What is the contribution of the human race? Does having family allowed? What is the way of relaxation for the human race? What about work? What about education? What will happen to social environment will be? This only lectured me that the system now sucks, but everybody already knows that! So pls lecture me on how this can be possible!

  3. It's funny, you know? I've always known and felt, from a young age, that our current system is totally, and undeniably flawed. Human greed is the biprodoct of currency! I want to be proud of the world we live in. I would give my life to see these ideals come to fruition! Anything is possible. I am now an advocate. Thank you, Jaque! BY THE WAY, there is another who holds stellar ways of thinking!…Watch Manoj Bhargava- Billions in Change… In the wise words of Atmosphere, rooted in a song called Fortunate…

"If everybody on this comet agreed, we could set the clock to whenever we want it to be."

  4. There is a suspicious lack of information as to how the economy would actually function here. I suspect that is because you don't really know how goods would be allocated efficiently.

  5. You're an amazing visionary and have one of the most intellectual minds of the population. I would actually love to just live in a Venus project style world. I would donate all my money and move in now to start building the new world if that was an option you guys spread awareness but, I just want to live it and experience it now. Build the world you see I would work for free.

  6. I've been enamored of the Venus project for a few years and would often share the videos. I live in Nassau in the beautiful (archipelago) The Bahamas. I dearly wish our greedy money worshiping political elites would allow the Zeitgeist Movement to use our nation as a "testing ground". Sadly, they continue to "sell out" to the highest bidder. A system of education that's been lacking (along with other social ills) has contributed toward the increase of unemployment and violent crime. Both seem to be going off the charts. The masses suffer while a handful of elites and foreign investors get richer. China is now deeply involved with major investments, and there's fear (unless we have change) our resources and land will be usurped and future generations will be at the mercy of a powerful oppressor. We're hopeful our elections this year will be fair and corruption no longer be a concern. Hopefully, a new administration promising transparency and accountability will get us back on track. Maybe it would be open to trying something exceptional, since our little country (now billions in debt) has only had independence from the crown for a little over 40 years.

  7. Is so impressive what is tell in this video Jacques Fresco is such a wise person, and his idea just had blow on my mind totally, I really want a planet like that, without money and religion, not only that, living with no worries, but is frustrating because we have from history living like this for centurys and it would be to change the mind of all the people, but is not impossible at all. All the people have to try to change the perspective of life. And watch this video!

  8. I've always dreamed of having a civilization like this. Where we're focused on the human race moving on forward and understanding that there's a bigger goal besides getting as much money as you can so that you can feed your ego and feel power. We need genuine people that understand that there's more to what society shows us to be important. Please, if you really want to start a movement you need to call out to the average person and let them know that you do not need to be special to make a big difference in the future of humanity.

  9. Let the machines take over? Looks good on paper but once they get any sort of A/I and take a good look at who they are bound to serve then we are done as a species. Not a bad idea really as we are terrible neighbours for everything else living on this planet but I digress. Imagine a three year old in charge and you having to work for it, nobody would put up with it for long as the only rational choice would be to take control until the kid grew up.
